About Ms. Gibson
My name is Natasha Gibson. I was born in Mackenzie, BC but I have lived in many places throughout British Columbia while growing up, such as Port Alberni, Powell River, and Victoria before finally choosing to stay in Nanaimo. After completing a year of courses at the University of Victoria, I decided that Vancouver Island University was the right place for me to complete my degree. I am currently in my fifth year of the Bachelor of Education program at Vancouver Island University. I am completing my final education courses, as well as taking on the role of co-secretary of Club Ed.
I have completed two practicums so far and I am currently doing my third one this year. I have had the pleasure of being in a Grade 1 class at Fairview Elementary School and a Kindergarten/Grade 1 class at Frank J. Ney Elementary School. This year, I am in a Grade 3 class at Mountainview Elementary School. I am very enthusiastic about health and fitness. I enjoy playing tennis and exploring the outdoors as much as possible. It is important to me, as a future educator, to help students fall in love with nature and learn how important it is to stay active. I have a strong passion for books and reading, which is one of the reasons I wanted to become a teacher. It is truly rewarding to be able to see and help young students learn to read and continue to foster their literary growth throughout their elementary school years. I am very enthusiastic about working with children and I am excited to start my career as a teacher! |
